Coaching

What is Coaching?

  • It is essentially a non-directive form of development
  • It focuses on improving performance and developing individual or team skills
  • Personal, relationship, life and work performance issues may be discussed
  • Coaching activities have both individual and organisational benefits and goals
  • It assumes that the individual is psychologically well and does not require clinical intervention
  • It provides people with feedback on both their strengths and areas for development

There is no failure. Only feedback.
Quoted by: Robert Allen

LIFE COACHING

Problems or situations frequently remain unresolved because they are overwhelming, are too woolly or undefined. Coaching looks at the big picture but focuses attention on specific areas and develops action plans. It starts with a broad sweep before digging deeper to identify the underlying causes. The process of coaching is at the pace of and driven by the agenda of the person being coached. Most often individuals can handle stress and other complex situations if they feel in control and are able to make choices. Coaching enables you to do just that.

CAREER COACHING

People who are engaged in challenging careers that ‘fit’ with their goals, ambitions and personalities, lead productive and fulfilling lives. Whether you have yet to decide on your career path, are mid-career and want to change possibly due to burnout or general career dissatisfaction, or, indeed are approaching retirement, career coaching will help you focus on what is important to you.

Career Coaching will begin with you learning more about your preferences, how you define success, and what you want to create for yourself in the future. We will focus on WHAT it is you want based on your strengths, values and vision – the WHAT being the first and most important step. The HOW, the planning stage, falls more easily into place once you are clear on the WHAT.

CV

Your CV is your marketing tool, your packaging, and the only part of the job search scenario that you have total control of. Understand how you can maximise your impact by customising your CV.

Preparing for the Interview

Once your CV reflects your strengths and competencies that make you different from the other candidates, the obvious next step is to prepare for the interview. Breaking the interview down into its constituent parts helps applicants to stay focused, to be fully prepared and to maximise their chances of securing the job.

Retirement Planning

Although under the Career heading, retirement planning bears more relationship to life coaching, as most areas where adjustment and choices will need to be made fall into four broad categories: social, psychological, financial and physical. Working with a coach will ensure you take the most appropriate action by conducting a holistic review of your needs, wants and wishes.

Testimonial

I was very pleased with the results from my four coaching sessions. Hazel’s warm welcome, her interest in my comfort and her ability to make me feel at ease helped in establishing trust. Her lovely gentle presence enabled me to look at situations in my life that were difficult. Her questions were excellent and led me to new understandings. She pushed me gently to take action which I did, the outcomes of which were and still are successful.

Testimonial

During my sessions with you I got great insight, strengthened my self confidence, self esteem and self awareness. Your coaching style gave me a lot of space and freedom, I was myself, and experienced the “here and now”. Thanks to your sessions I’ve started thinking more creatively and I am exploring wider possibilities of achieving my goals. I LOVE your visualisation techniques, which gave me (in also a very therapeutic way) a better understanding of myself and my relationship with others. Your person and your coaching style created very positive energy, and working with you was a pleasure. It was a very positive journey and new experience for me. I’ve touched my true self, my potential, and I’ve got the sense of who I am and realise who I want to be.
